Rics: Housing market remained stable in November

People considering buying properties for sale were told that the
housing market remained relatively stable in November 2010.
The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (Rics) released its
November UK Housing Market Survey today (December 14th 2010), which
revealed that conditions had been similar to the previous
month.
Spokesman for the group Ian Perry said: "There was little change in
the housing market in November; prices continued to edge lower and
sales levels generally remained subdued."
It reported that 44 per cent more chartered surveyors said that
property prices fell in November rather than rose, an improvement
on 49 per cent in October.
The report also found that the number of stocks on surveyors' books
rose to 69.5 from 67.2, surpassing the 69.1 figure shown in
September.
Mr Perry added that potential buyers could possibly simply be
taking their time before buying properties for sale, with "many
deciding to 'wait and see' until the new year".
